Miami Heat Bringing Back Original “Vice” Uniforms For Rest Of Season – SportsLogos.Net News

The Miami Heat unexpectedly announced on Thursday they are bringing back their original “Vice” uniforms and will wear them in place of their Association Edition design for the remainder of the season.

The Heat debuted the white uniforms – which feature a script wordmark inspired by the signage at the old Miami Arena, as well as fluorescent pink and blue accents – as their 2017-18 City Edition design.

That sparked a run of five different Vice-inspired by designs over the next four seasons, including “Vice Nights” (black) and “Sunset Vice” (pink) in 2018-19, “ViceWave” (blue) in 2019-20 and “ViceVersa” (gradient) in 2020-21.

The black, blue and gradient versions were all considered the Heat’s City Edition designs during those seasons, while the pink version was their Earned Edition uniform – a reward given to the teams that made the playoffs the previous season.

The only difference between the original “Vice” uniform and what the Heat will wear beginning with Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets is the Robinhood patch on the left shoulder, as Ultimate Software was Miami’s jersey patch partner in 2017-18.

Miami will pair the uniforms with a new “Vice” court for a total of 12 home games, including against the Orlando Magic on Jan. 27, Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 29, Boston Celtics on Feb. 10, Indiana Pacers on Feb. 28, Minnesota Timberwolves on March 7, Chicago Bulls on March 8, Golden State Warriors on March 25, Atlanta Hawks on March 27, Milwaukee Bucks on April 5, Philadelphia 76ers on April 7 and Washington Wizards on April 13.

Interestingly, the Heat never wore the original “Vice” uniforms on a Vice-inspired court, as a complementary design wasn’t unveiled until the 2018-19 season. The new court they’ll play on features a blue “Miami” wordmark at midcourt, black keys and a black out-of-bounds area with a pink “Heat” wordmark.

Miami will also wear the uniforms on the road eight times, including games at the Bucks on Jan. 23 and Feb. 23, Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, Toronto Raptors on Feb. 21, New York Knicks on March 17, Celtics on April 2 and Bulls on April 9.

The Heat now become the second team to replace one of its uniforms midway through this season, joining the Utah Jazz, who swapped their Statement Edition uniforms on Jan. 1 as part of their two-year transition to a new design.
